Foam And Padding Layer For Lymphedema Wrapping
Foam And Padding For Lymphedema Bandaging
The secondary layer of a multi-layer compression bandage used for lymphedema wrapping during Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT) consists of a layer of foam and padding. The layer of medical foam and padding is placed on top of the initial layer of stockinette and is used to cushion the limb being wrapped, especially around bony areas. The layer of foam and padding creates a pressure layer that helps break up concentrations of heavy, built-up lymph fluid, as well as to provide a consistent level of support for the outer layer of short stretch compression bandages.
